MIKE GIBBONS
Mike Gibbons was instrumental in creating the Eagles Circle Foundation. Back in the summer of 1998, when he was Estee Lauder Senior Vice President, he invited Rikers teacher John Wareham and his just released graduate student Kenny Johnson to attend a weekend retreat at his home in Upstate New York. The discussion readings included The Golden Eagle. The parable so inspired John and Kenny, that they adopted it as an Eagles Foundation motif. The story of that weekend retreat was the subject of an article in the Journal of the Conference Board. Mike has been a dedicated Eagles supporter, funder, and advisor ever since that event. A noted philanthropist, he has been active in countless charitable causes relating to the advancement of the poor and underprivileged. He was elected Grand Marshall of the celebrated New York Saint Patrick's Irish Day Parade and the photo of him here in his Grand Marshall regalia was taken at a private function in a Flatiron loft apartment, following that march up Fifth Avenue.
